As an attuned companion, I offer a warm, accepting environment where you can heal from distressing memories and painful emotions. As you begin your therapy journey, you and I will talk about any coping skills you may need to be successful. I will work with you to help you gain the tools to regulate strong emotions like anxiety, anger, and shame. Through my EMDR training, I also have tools to help you enhance positive feelings and experiences (like feeling loved, protected, and calm) to prepare you for success. When you are ready, we will face your past together, working at your pace to find resolution for the symptoms that are holding you back as well as to gain new freedom and perspective as you move towards future goals. In addition to working with adults, I have participated in advanced trainings in the use of EMDR with children and adolescents, and am experienced in working with these populations.
