Welcome. My name is Maria, and my role as a counselor is to create a safe and supportive environment for you to focus your efforts on improving your quality of life, and to assist you in finding what will work for you along the way. My approach to counseling involves respect for your unique story and life experiences, and an emphasis on collaboration in exploring a path for healing that aligns with your values. Some of my areas of experience include depression, anxiety, stress, relationship issues, behavioral issues, self-esteem, and trauma. I use an integrative approach to counseling in meeting your individual needs. I am trained in DBT and EMDR, and use a combination of CBT and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I believe that everyone is doing their best, and at the same time has the ability to improve their lives every day. Through a collaborative approach, I am committed to hearing you, working with you, and providing a safe space to help guide you in the direction of your goals.
