My passion is to help people in need as effectively as possible. That desire has grown from my own struggle with emotional pain, both anxiety and depression, and the life events that have left me in periods of intense despair. These are the moments that have most shaped my values and my faith. Most of us in the field have a story and mine is one that compels me to be an encourager of others in the midst of emotional, relational and psychological pain. Through three decades of study in Psychology and Theology, I have come to a deep appreciation of both traditions and disciplines. In the philosophical tradition of Thomas Aquinas, I see no need to divorce faith from reason. Of greater concern to me than the particular symptoms and pathologies an individual, couple or family might present with, is the very nature of who they are as ones created by a grace-giving God.
