Hello! My name is Dr. Jay Velez and I am a postdoctoral fellow who has been in clinical practice for 5 years. It’s human to struggle in one way or another. Feeling stuck or, as if “the rug has been pulled out from under you”? Maybe feeling overwhelmed with feelings of shame, loneliness and hopelessness? Feeling uncertain of where to start? Allow me to help. I help support my clients by offering a safe, unbiased, compassionate space. Through a multicultural perspective, I assist my clients by offering an environment to connect with their values, thoughts, and emotions that will help them recognize the barriers to their goals. Whether you are struggling with changes in your mood, trauma, grief and loss, relationship issues or you are just tired of not understanding what is wrong; I can help support you in your journey of self-discovery and healing to regain a sense of purpose and peace. I am trained in EMDR.
