I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 25 years of experience. I have an undergraduate degree in psychology from Duke University and a master’s degree in clinical social work from Catholic University. In my practice you can expect that I will be warm, compassionate, and direct. We can’t change the past, or the difficult challenges you face presently, but we can work together to understand and resolve your stressors or past trauma. Together, we can uncover long-standing behavior patterns or negative perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life. I provide specific tools and give feedback in sessions, so you leave each meeting feeling like you have new ideas and strategies for handling the things that are causing you distress. I will also help you recognize your strengths. In addition to EMDR Therapy, I also use other techniques including, insight-oriented, solution-focused, and cognitive therapy.
